COVID-19 Guidelines & Resources

Health & Safety

OAK's in-person events will be held in accordance with county, state and federal public health guidelines as well as our internal policies. Staff, volunteers and program participants are expected to follow safety procedures including:

Do not attend an in-person event if you (or anyone in your household) are displaying any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever (100.4F or higher)

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Diarrhea

  • Chills

  • Repeated shaking with chills

  • Muscle pain

  • Headache

  • Sore throat

  • New loss of taste or smell

If you are registered for the Annual Conference and need to cancel due to displaying any of the above symptoms, refunds will not be issued, but you can transfer registration to another person. Please contact us prior to the event.

To minimize risk at in-person events:

  • CDC highly encourages eligible individuals to be fully vaccinated.

  • CDC recommends that if you test positive for COVID-19, you stay home for at least 5 days and isolate from others in your home. You are likely most infectious during these first 5 days. Wear a high-quality mask when you must be around others at home and in public.

  • If after 5 days you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication, and your symptoms are improving, or you never had symptoms, you may end isolation after day 5. Regardless of when you end isolation, avoid being around people who are more likely to get very sick from COVID-19 until at least day 11. You should wear a high-quality mask through day 10.

  • In communities with substantial or high transmission (orange or red) of SARSCoV-2, OAK recommends all participants wear a mask in public indoor settings, including fully vaccinated individuals. Track current incidence rate of spread in Kentucky by county here.

  • When registering for in-person events you must agree to contact OAK immediately if you or anyone in your household shows symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19 within two days of the event.

For current recommendations on how to protect yourself and others please check out this Center for Disease Control information.
