Elmwood Stock Farm

Elmwood Stock Farm is committed to healthy and wholesome production of superior, high-quality, fresh farm products. Organic certification and close family involvement ensure that safe and sustainable farming practices are followed, while crops and livestock are well cared for. The 6th-generation family farm produces vegetables, grass-fed beef and lamb, pasture-raised chicken, pork, heritage-breed turkeys, and eggs.

Elmwood’s long-running CSA program offers 3 share sizes, add-on shares of eggs, meats, and pantry items, and all items are USDA Certified Organic. The popular on-farm pickup continues, where members choose their own items from all the produce in season. New for 2018, members can visit the online store to change out items in their share before it is packed each week.

Elmwood farmers Mac and Ann Stone are the faces you likely see at the farmers market, while Ann’s brother John Bell is on the farm tending the animals and raising the crops. The families share the work load with a great support team, and all work together to produce fresh, high quality CSA shares each week. They encourage members to learn about how food gets from farm to plate on scheduled farm tours, including a CSA day held each spring.

Lazy Eight Stock Farm

Lazy Eight Stock Farm is a 420 acre Certified Organic farm located on the banks of the Paint Lick Creek in Madison and Garrard counties. The farm family consists of Carla and Lothar Baumann and their son, Bryce, his wife Anna, and their children, Jack and Molly.  In 2012, we joined the USDA Certified Organic Program. Our love of the land and the work, and our desire to farm in a way that is aligned with our values, led us to Community Supported Agriculture. We began our CSA in 2012, and it has become the lifeblood of the farm.

Rootbound Farm

Rootbound Farm is a USDA certified organic family farm located in Oldham County, Kentucky. The farm is run by Ben Abell and Bree Pearsall along with a dedicated farm crew. Now entering our 8th season, we remain committed to our CSA program as the cornerstone of our business. Every weekly delivery features a beautiful collection of items grown on the farm and comes with a newsletter featuring recipes and storage ideas.  We believe that eating locally and organically should be delicious, healthy, and FUN!  In 2018, members will be able to swap out some of the items in their vegetable share to meet their needs and desires.

Sustainable Harvest Farm

We have changed the traditional CSA model, which includes a variety of seasonal produce that is selected by the farmer, to a new customizable approach where our CSA members make the choices. It is the closest thing to hand-picking your produce from the farm. If you don’t like beets, don’t worry. If you love zucchini, we’ll give you more.

Sustainable Harvest Farm produces USDA-certified organic vegetables, Grass Fed Beef and pork. It is the culmination of years of dreaming, planning and praying by Ford and Amanda Waterstrat. In 2011 they offered their farm’s first Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and became the first USDA-Certified Organic Farm in the region. By 2013 they expanded their operation to include grass-fed beef and pastured pork. They continue to look for ways to innovate and expand their farm to provide quality, sustainable and delicious food to their family and community.
